Shop Launch – Saturday 9th June

This year the shop is located on the top floor of The Paisley Centre, across from the o2 store.  Please come along to find out more, volunteer to be part of the project or make yourself a costume for the re-enactment day on 5 October.


Sma Shot Day – Saturday 6th July
Renfrewshire Witch Hunt 1697 took part in the Sma Shot Day Parade and also had a stall at Abbey Close where merchandise was on sale and actors were on hand to give the general public more information about the story of the Renfrewshire Witches.


Touring Exhibitions



The project launch was held on 6 October 2011 in Paisley YMCA.  The schools pack was launched at a twilight event on 28 February at Paisley Abbey.


On Saturday, 3rd March, Abbey Close, Paisley Arts Centre and the Town Hall was animated by costumed characters from 1697 as part of the Weaving Musical Threads festival.

Costume Shop Launch – Saturday 17 March
The shop was located on the ground floor of the Paisley Centre, between The Games Centre and the Magic Moments shop.


Throughout the month of May the touring exhibition took place at various venues throughout Renfrewshire.

17th Century Fashion Show
On Saturday 26 May in the Paisley Shopping Centre a 17th Century Fashion Show was held.  Our core group of actors modelled the authentic 17th century costumes created by Ann McConway and her fantastic team of volunteers.

On the morning of 9 June there was a conference in Paisley Abbey, Injustice Done – Scottish Witchcraft, Folk Belief and The Renfrewshire Witch Hunt of 1697.
